Revised Lexus CT200h launched locally

Lexus has introduced the facelifted CT200h to South Africa. The revision included reducing the range to just one model, with slightly different styling, improved rigidity and an increased specification level.
Design-wise the CT200h gets the new Lexus spindle grille (as featured on larger models like the IS and GS), 10-spoke 16-inch alloys and restyled rear bumper with new reflector housings to emphasize the vehicle’s width and diffuser-like centre insert.
The CT200h’s rigidity has also improved through the use of spot welding and further adoption of structural adhesive technology. The stronger frame has allowed the Lexus engineers to revise the CT200h’s suspension; specifically the coil spring rates, shock absorber valve, and rear stabiliser bar. The developments under the sheet metal all contribute to less NVH for a more refined driving experience.
Inside, the CT200h’s upgrades include a redesigned, smaller steering wheel, new shift lever with leather boot and a safety belt indicator for the rear seats.
The CT200h is still powered by the same 1,8 Atkinson cycle petrol engine and electric motor that produce 73 kW/142 N.m and 60 kW/207 N.m respectively. According to Lexus, it sips just 4,1 litres/100 km and emits only 95 g/km of CO2.
The CT200h is available for R388 800, and comes standard with a four-year/100 000 km warranty and service plan.
