BREAKING: Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupé revealed

Mercedes showed us the sleek S500 Coupé last month, but has now pulled the covers from the S63 AMG version set to debut at the New York Auto Show.
Firepower is provided by the same twin-turbo, 5,5-litre V8 engine found in the E63 S which delivers 430 kW, but is now tuned to deliver a whopping 900 N.m of torque. This is enough to propel the Coupé from standstill to 100 km/h in 4,3 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The lightweight construction method employed managed to shave 65 kg off the previous model (CL63 AMG) which aids performance and also helps to reduce the fuel consumption (claimed figure is 10,1 litres/100 km).
Styling-wise, the AMG kit shows restraint, which is a good thing as it does not spoil the lustrous look. It ads more muscle in the form of a more aggressive front bumper, beefed-up side skirts, quad chrome exhaust pipes and a gloss-black diffuser. It now rides on 19-inch titanium-grey, forged, light-alloy AMG wheels to emphasise the look.
Mercedes has added the famous Magic Body Control function of the S-Class but also a curve-tilting feature. This is similar to the idea of a motorcycle leaning into a bend and will minimise the G-forces felt by the passengers. A maximum body lean angle of 2,5 degrees is possible.
We should be getting the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupé in South Africa towards the end of the year.
