Fast & Furious 7 to Keep Paul Walker Using CGI, Body Doubles

Although Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker died last November in a crash, the actor will remain in the seventh installment of the film. Not exactly news, but a recent reports reveals how producers will manage to keep Vin Diesel's partner in the franchise.

According to the New York Daily News, quoting an unnamed source close to production, Universal Pictures plans to retain Walker in the film by using Computer-Generated Imagery. Specifically, the actor's face and voice will be used on top of four body doubles that have been reportedly hired for production.

"They have hired four actors with bodies very similar to Paul’s physique and they will be used for movement and as a base. Paul’s face and voice will be used on top using CGI," the source said, adding that Universal feel confident fans will feel satisfied with the overall result.

Paul Walker died in late November 2013 following a car crash that occurred in Santa Clarita, California. The 40-year-old actor was a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT that hit a pole before bursting into flames. The supercar was driven by former racing driver Roger Rodas. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Shooting on the film had been delayed after Walker's tragic death, with roughly half of the filming having been completed. Universal Studios said Fast & Furious 7 will hit the big screen on April 10, 2015.
