BREAKING NEWS: Porsche Cayman and Boxster GTS revealed
Finally, after several spy shots, including ones taken of the vehicles in South Africa, Porsche has officially released details of the new Cayman and Boxster GTS models.
In typical Porsche fashion, the updates on these models are subtle. On the exterior Porsche has reworked the front and rear bumpers. The most notable change is the darkened bits, including the headlights and wheels.
These cars receive standard equipment such as PASM, Sport Chrono package and Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). The Alcantara highlights on the interior have become part of the GTS moniker, and these two models are no exceptions. It should give the interior a pseudo-GT3 feel.
The same subtle changes have been applied to the engines. Based on the each respective S model, both cars produce more power and torque. The Porsche Boxster GTS now produces 243 kW (up by 11 kW) and the Cayman GTS 250 kW (also up by 11 kW). Parallel to the power increase, both models also received a 10 N.m increase, a total of 370 N.m for the Boxster GTS and 380 N.m for the Cayman GTS.
The claimed acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is now 4,7 seconds for the Boxster GTS and the Cayman GTS will do it in a brisk 4,6 seconds.
Both models are now available to order from Porsche South Africa.
