Miley Cyrus Might Stay For A Bit Longer In Hospital Than Expected

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus could remain in the hospital for up to a month thanks to an allergic reaction to some antibiotics she took before her concert in Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday night.

The singer was hospitalized shortly before showtime when she had an "extreme" allergice reaction to some sinus medication, and now doctors say it could be weeks before she's back on stage.

"Miley was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour in N.C. (North Carolina) a week ago," a rep for the singer said in a statement. "She was prescribed the antibiotic cephalexin, which she has now suffered an extreme allergic reaction to. This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases.

"She will remain hospitalized and is under a doctor's care until we see some improvement and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time. Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans."

Miley aired her woes on Twitter Thursday morning, writing, "Over the hospital. I miss Bangerz tour. so sleeeeepy... can't quit crying... I wanna go back on tour. I'm meant to be onstage performing for y'all... not laying in a hospital bed."

She also called out reports that exaggerated her condition, telling them to get their stories straight and read the official statement.

"So many ignorant stories out there no one is reading the official statement and these dumb asses are scaring my fans. Please read official..." she wrote this afternoon. "Shut the f**k up & let me heal. stop scaring my family, friends, & fans. OFFICIAL STATEMENT.

Miley's next concert, which is scheduled for Friday night in Nashville, Tennessee, now hangs in the balance.
