Technological advancement and growth is slowly catching up in Africa. Many African countries have embarked on technological projects to help shape their economies.

Among these technological advancements are the making and assembling of cars. Ghana, Uganda and Nigeria seems to have taken the lead. Here are cars these countries have made.

Kiira EV Smack From Uganda

This is a car developed in Uganda by Kiira Motors Corporation (KMC). Originally the  ‘KIIRA’  was developed by students. This car is a hybrid car which means it combines the benefits of gasoline engines and electric motors and can be configured to obtain different objectives such as improved fuel economy, increased power or additional auxiliary power for electronic devices and power tools.

Innoson From Nigeria

Innoson made it public on their website, “we are the premiere private vehicle manufacturing company in Nigeria.”

Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company was commissioned by His Excellency, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Chief (Dr.) Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma (OFR), is the founder and developer at Innoson, a Nigerian homegrown car company. Below are some of the exciting models developed by this enterprising company. Trucks made in Tanzania called NYUMBU

Tanzania couldn’t be left out. They’ve also made their own own Trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. The innovation was made possible by The Tanzania Automotive Technology Center (TATC) who were tasked with coming up with technological innovations.

The TATC received their start up and subsequent funding for uplifting and maintenance from the government coffers. The center designs, develops and manufactures motor vehicles and other pieces of machinery in line with its mission.
