Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have split with his long term girlfriend Irina Shayk. The footballer called off the relationship after his girlfriend refused to attend his mothers 60th birthday. Well, the breakup was around the corner and people had already started suspect that the two were not in good terms after she didn’t attend the Ballon d’O awards.
Irina, 29, sent the rumour out after she publicly unfollowed her boyfriend of nearly five years on Twitter. She is also rumoured to have refused to give up her career and become a stay-at-home wife and mum thus forcing the Real Madrid striker to call time on their relationship. A close source to the couple told Portuguese daily Correio da Manha that the end came after the dispute over Dolores’ birthday party during the couple’s Christmas break in Dubai. The source said:
''Cristiano wanted to surprise his mum and as he spent Christmas with Irina in Dubai, he had planned to be with his mum on her birthday, but Irina didn’t want to go. They had such a big row that he ended up spending New Years Eve alone with his son.It was the straw that broke the camel’s back because they had hadn’t been getting on well in the last few months.''
The source finished by saying “Dolores thinks Irina wasn’t the right woman for Ronaldo’s son.”
